Bentonite is a hydrated Aluminum Silicate, which has its natural existence. Its most important use is based on its natural swelling property. There are no doubts about the fact that Bentonite is most economic natural thickener available to industries. It has got exceptional water absorbing capacity, which is several times its weight and it gives thick tropic fluid.
The Chemical name of Bentonite is HYDRATED ALUMINUM SILICATE. It finds its greatest application in oil drilling. There are high quantities of Bentonite, which are used in drilling mud. It is used as a thickener in some cheap paints, primers, and water based coatings. It also finds its application in manufacturing greases
Limestone is a common sedimentary rock which constitutes of mainly of calcium carbonate which is chemically written as CaCO3 and finds usage as a building stone and in the manufacture of lime, carbon dioxide, and cement. Basically a Dolomite stone having oil-resistant properties, Limestone exhibits high resistance in freezing and thawing conditions.
It is generally used for producing limestone tiles, slabs in flooring, wall cladding, and vanity tops and to pave the floors of large commercial complexes, hospitals, airports, shopping malls, railway stations, parks etc. The muted tones of limestone are tailor-made and ideally suited for today's more casual and comfortable lifestyles. Usually these soft beiges and tans, either polished or honed, is perfected suited for bathrooms, fireplaces, and counters and less-traveled flooring which require a more informal furnishing.
Limestone is sedimentary rocks that are formed as a result of high compression and high temperature. It forms at the bottom of lakes and seas, as silt and organic matter settle to the bottom. As more and more layers pile up over thousands and millions of years, it adds more and more weight. The heat and pressure cause chemical reactions to take place to harden the sediments into solid stone. The great Sphinx of Egypt is a masterpiece of Sculpted Limestone formed under these conditions.
