Ferro Titanium Alloy is one of our premium products which has a universal appeal and is used as an additive in the production of optimum quality steel. It is also given preference in the aviation industry as a high quality raw material. Being a Ferro alloy, an alloy of iron and titanium with 10-20 to 45-75 % titanium and sometimes a small amount of carbon, it finds it application in steelmaking as a cleansing agent for iron and steel.

The titanium shows high reactivity with sulphur, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen, forming insoluble compounds and sequestering them in slag that is why it is used for deoxidizing, and sometimes for desulphurization and de-nitrification. When it comes to steelmaking, the mixing of titanium serves the purpose of developing metal with finer grain structure. Ferrotitanium powder has found its usage as a fuel in some pyrotechnic compositions. We also manufacture Ferro titanium alloy by mixing titanium sponge and scrap with iron and melting them together in an induction furnace. The storage of hydrogen can also be done by using Manganese alloyed ferrotitanium.

Another important alloy in our range is Ferro niobium alloy which has a niobium content of 60-70%. It acts as a main source for niobium alloying of HSLA steel and constitutes more than 80% of the world wide niobium production. The niobium is extracted from Pyrochlore deposits and then it is converted into the niobium Pentoxide Nb2O5. Then, it is further combined with iron oxide and aluminium and after undergoing reduction, it gets reduced in an aluminothermic reaction to niobium and iron. The Ferro niobium alloy is either purified by using electron beam melting or is used in its native form. To form its alloy with steel, the Ferro niobium is poured into molten steel before casting.
